Sure, it has the 8th wonder of the world (the back side of water, for those of you who have forgotten your Jungle Cruise), but that's not what makes Disneyland the happiest place on earth. What makes it so magical for me is that when I walk through those gates, the 7-year-old version of myself gets to come out. And the 7-year-old Katrina knows how to have fun. She rides on carousels, spins herself silly in teacups, and blows pixie dust on her pirate ship to make it fly. She skips and dances down the sidewalk and sings along to the music—and doesn't care who sees or hears. She screams on roller coasters and laughs so hard she cries. She wears really cool hats and eats Mickey ice cream bars.
Basically, she loses herself in imagination. Of course, there's also something for the grown-up Katrina. Please let me introduce you to heaven in a bowl:
That's right, folks, that's a world-famous Dole pineapple whip. Add that to a churro, and you've got yourself a meal. And it's even better when you're wearing those really cool ears.
Thanks go to some wonderful friends who didn't run away when they saw the 7-year-old in me come out and who were perfectly OK walking around with a 30-some-odd-year-old with pumpkin mouse ears on her head. It was fabulous, ladies!

It was wonderful (says the other lady who walked around with pumpkin mouse ears on her head). All week I've been wishing to go back and scream on the roller coasters and laugh myself hoarse on Indiana Jones.
Looks like the 7 year old Katrina had lots of fun and the 30 something had more fun. Glad you could make the trip you need to do those things sometimes
Aww, I love the ears! And the ice-cream bar! And the pineapple whip! Glad you have a fantastic time.
