I'm just as anxious for spring as everyone else is, but when my brother offered me a free pass to the Canyons, I jumped on it. I took Carter, my very cool 9-year-old nephew, with me, and we had a blast. There was lots of new snow—beautiful powder, not the normal spring snow that has the consistency of ice cream. And there were not a lot of people, so we got to enjoy the sound of our skis silently swooshing through the snow practically by ourselves. On our way down the mountain, Carter described the day as "better than awesome." So true.
See, I live in Utah. It always snows in April in Utah. I figure I can either complain about it not being spring yet or find a way to enjoy the extended winter. I'm so much happier when I do the latter. Better than awesome, indeed.

I'm glad you and Carter had an awesome spring ski day without any injuries and that you, unlike the rest of us, can look on the bright side of the snowflakes.
