Multiple Personalities

Do you ever feel like you're a different person when you're around different people or in different situations? I do. For example, I'm rather proper and dignified at work, and I don't especially like being proper and dignified. Work Katrina is kind of boring. (The exception, of course, is when I've had enough sophistication for one day so I shut my office door and play air guitar to whatever's on my iPod or dance in my chair for a few minutes. Thank goodness for doors.) When I'm at home or with friends, I feel much more like myself because I'm much less guarded. And at rock concerts and Zumba and a few other places, I can get completely crazy. I sometimes wonder if people I know from one part of my life would even recognize me if they saw me in another part of my life. Probably, since I'm still mostly there; I just suppress the wild side at times—sometimes more than others. I guess it's a good thing to not go all crazy in places where you're supposed to be professional, and I like the fact that I can be a professional, but I wish I could figure out how to get a bit of the fun Katrina in there too without losing all credibility.

;Yes we all have two sides or maybe more It's nice to be able to let our hair down so to speak at times it's good for the soul otherwise we could become very boring and uninteresting people to be around. let it go when you can :) I don't want to be boring and I am sure you don't you have too much fun continue your fun

I think it's okay to be boring at work, especially since you compensate with the occasional discreet air guitar. Sometimes the personality needs to fit the personal situation. I'm glad I get to see a few different Katrinas, though.

OK, so maybe I can learn to live with being boring at work, as long as work Katrina doesn't become who I am all the time. That's happened before, and it really stinks.

I'm boring at work except with my own team. I'm totally boring at church. I'm sure people who don't know me very well are shocked when I actually open my mouth. (And more shocked by what comes out of it.)

My opinion—let it go at work. Yeah, "proper and dignified" has its place, but I guarantee you'd lose no credibility if you played air guitar with your door open. We can use all the help we can get to lighten things up.

You know your grandpa was thought to be stuffy and boring. Probably thought of that way at church and in his job. Maybe it goes with that territory. I was told once in a youth interview by one of his counselors in the bishopric that I needed to help him have more humor in his life. That made me laugh out loud and say, you really don't know him do you? ;) Maybe its genetic? But I think its part of the territory of working in the big tall white building. ;)
