The Great Outdoors

Utah is a pretty great place to live if you take advantage of what's outside your door. Sure, there aren't any beaches, but two of my favorite natural spots are here—Alta during the winter and Arches whenever it's less than 100 degrees. And whenever you need some outdoor time, a great hike is never far away, and thanks to my friend Becky, who loves being outside almost as much as I do, I have a hiking buddy. We went hiking this morning, and the leaves were just starting to change colors. It was quite gorgeous. You can even see some of the colors with this picture taken with my poor-man's digital camera (also known as my phone). Trust me, it was much better in person. I had to keep reminding myself to watch the trail, not the scenery, so I wouldn't end up tripping and falling all the way down the mountain.

I love being outside almost as much as you do? Hmm, that might be true, as I'm not a skier, but it's nearly a tie, I think.
Thanks for going on the hike with me! It was very lovely. You can be sure I'll need a hiking buddy again sometime soon.

All right, I'll give you a tie. You did introduce me to snowshoeing, after all.
