Here's another way to enjoy the great outdoors in the winter: find a friend who has an extra pair of snowshoes and then find a canyon. Tada! Instant outdoor enjoyment. I had been indoors for way too many hours last week, so when Becky suggested snowshoeing, I was more than ready to go. Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day in the mountains, and we had a lovely time tromping through the snow trying to find the right trail. (Yes, we did find it eventually.) Becky has some more pictures showing what a perfect day it was up on her blog. Thanks for going, Becky. And maybe if we go again (and again and again), we'll get in a bit better shape. :)I'm trying to give all those snow-haters out there as many options for enjoying the white stuff as possible, because winter gets picked on a lot and it just doesn't deserve it. So if snowshoeing isn't your thing and skiing isn't your thing, you can always go sledding! My family had a blast on Christmas Eve, although I wouldn't recommend going off any jumps if you're over the age of 10. Ouch!

I'm always up for some good outdoor recreation, winter or summer. We'll need to go snowshoeing again soon. And maybe one of these days I'll try skiing.
Though I still don't quite love winter.
